This is the bottom half of the “casing for the driver. This way i shouldnt have to open it again. I gathered a load of similar parts to do this but the amp I had couldn’t power the driver so I kinda lost interest, think I bought a w driver by accident and only had a 10w power amp so it was inaudible. Because is so close to 83, i didnt use a high pass filter. Something like this may work http: This way the tube doesnt have to be 6′ long and you dont loose all that sound quality.
I have an old Cobreflex driver around here, somewhere I put 4 cuts into the coupler sider so a hose clamp would squeeze it on the throat. I’ve used my littel 15W marshall for this, but I’ve also used a smokey ciggarette amp. Here is the top half duct taped to the bottom half. I should do this, too. Attatch the tube to the driver, run it up your mic stand parallel to the mic.
I think that is brilliant. You need to exercise caution with the volume of the sound going into your mouth. My buddy used to have two of them and those suckers were always going dig.
Do I need a 50w amp to drive this, or should I stay on the low side? I could repair the controlls, jacks and switches, but as far as the electronics, they were multilaterd boards with a tone of chips.
So it almost perfect. Yes, my password is: It was hard to here the sound out the tube vs the actual speaker. Men die for what they want to be true, for what some terror in their hearts tells them is not true. For awhile Digitec would repair them.
Your mouth will mask all that completely. If i play the low e too much will i damage my driver?
Just kidding of cource. I have done extensive experimentation with various size and thickness of tubing and I believe this is, all around, the best. They are under bucks and are not the top of the line but work fine, especially if you can run it into a PA rather than an amp. I step on it no signal would pass, then in bypass more it would feed an amp that would drive the horn driver, sound would pass up the plastic tube and The sound would reflect off the back of the throught into the mic.
Hlrn didnt work because it leaked a lot noise. I don’t know when the last time was that someone has posted on this topic usually stick to HCFX.
So i like this setup because if i find a cheap 20 or so watt amp it can just convert it over. It will take a while to get used to talkin g with a tube in your mouth.
